Carla’s background and skillset is unique to the broad medtech industry. A former mechanical engineer with international product development experience and knack for speaking ‘human’, she founded Sento Solutions in April 2018.
Carla has grown Sento to be the only company in Australia to exclusively offer Usability Engineering and Human Factors Engineering for medical devices and digital healthcare products. In addition to setting the vision and direction for Sento, Carla oversees Sento’s client relationships, industry and network partnerships.
Carla’s strength is in her intimate knowledge and lean application of global usability standards and regulations, including IEC62366, FDA guidance to applying usability engineering and their alliance to ISO14971 and ISO13485.
Carla is also a sessional lecturer at Swinburne University in the School of Engineering and sits on the advisory committee for the Centre for Design & Innovation (CDI). While in France, Carla qualified and worked as a Pastry Chef.
